Having a boyfriend is a good thing. Or it's supposed to be, right? That's what Kyuhyun had asked himself for the third time that week. He had a boyfriend, not only handsome but pretty, cute but sexy,  really sweet and caring yet he had his more cunning and devious moments as well. He was a master in martial arts which while it was awe striking and beautiful to watch it was also deadly. Sungmin was one of a kind, he seemed to be good at just about anything he tried even cooking. Something Kyuhyun severely lacked at. His boyfriend was almost always around when he needed him and generally always cheerful. So, why was Kyuhyun wondering if it was a good thing to have a boyfriend? If only he couldn't remember why. Ignorance is bliss. He now fully understood that saying.

Lee Sungmin loved his boyfriend, Cho Kyuhyun. The two had been together for almost two years now and things never seemed to get dull. The awkward and shy side of Kyuhyun was just as in abundance as the snarky confident Kyuhyun. They were a good combination and never ceased to amuse Sungmin. Things between the two according to Sungmin were going great. Sure Kyuhyun had some odd tendencies here and there. Like how he would make ramen, the only meal that Kyuhyun could make, each time he would make it there was always a special ingredient and it was never the same. Eventually Sungmin had just stopped asking what the extra ingredient was because he genuinely didn't want to know what Kyuhyun put in it for fear that he would end up emptying his stomach of what he had already ate. Though lately that wasn't an issue. No, over the past week, Kyuhyun had been distancing himself from Sungmin. Almost every time Sungmin would come close his boyfriend would start looking everywhere but at him and move away. This was troubling him but he didn't let it show at least not yet.

The two were very similar and it only showed more when on the same day they both went to visit their best friends. Kyuhyun met Changmin at a café for lunch and Sungmin met Hyukjae at a nearby park. Where each made their friends listen to their problems because that's what best friends were for of course. "Hyung, I don't know what to do. Kyu keeps moving away from me almost like I'm the plague but as long as we're not close to each other then he acts like everything is fine. I want to touch him Hyukkie it's been too long." Sungmin whined as he kicked a rock out of their path. He continued to grumble under his breath, "I can't even tough his hair." Hyukjae smacked himself in he head and started shaking his head. "Sungmin, as much as I will always listen to your troubles please, please for my sanity don't mention anything about touching Kyuhyun in more than a rated pg manner. It creeps me out." He said as a shiver went down his spine that was noticeable to both Sungmin and Hyukjae. "urgh, ew just ew." A roll of the eyes was all Hyukjae got. Sungmin was too nice to voice his thoughts about how it was okay for him to hear all about Hyukjae and Donghae's touches but he wasn't about to mention anything even close to that about Kyu. He brushed his black hair out of his eyes, it was starting to get a little on the long side but that was the least of his worries right now. Looking at his friends rather short hairstyle he tilted his head to the side and asked, "Hyuk, why did you cut your hair? Now I can't make fun of you for your silly little hair flip."

Hyukjae was taken aback by the sudden change in topics especially since he was getting ready to give Sungmin a proper response. He spluttered for a moment before getting his answer on track, "Uh-I-er..I like it short and so does Hae. He says it makes me look more manly..like a lumberjack." He stuck his hands on his hips an puffed out his chest a bit. The shorter man could only bite his lip to try and contain his laughter. "Lumberjack huh? Do the two of you roleplay that as well, you've got some plaid in your wardrobe?" That fact was confirmed as Sungmin was now facing a strawberry colored friend. Now he really did let out his laughter only to be punched in the arm. "We're not talking about Donghae and I we're talking about you and Kyuhyun. N-now, have you asked him about this?" Sungmin kept chuckling under his breath as he rubbed his arm, it hadn't hurt him but it was more of the shock of being hit.  Once Kyuhyun was brought up again though, the laughter ceased and he just shook his head no. Hyukjae sighed and went on to give his best friend advice on what he should do about the situation.

Changmin was at a loss as to how to help his friend. Everything had been explained three times now and he still had no idea what to tell Kyuhyun. There wasn't really much to say besides the one thing he had already mentioned that his friend clearly didn't like. He sipped his tea as he watched the mop of brown hair shook from side to side as Kyuhyun had his head in his hands and was shaking it back and forth in frustration. "I'd love to tell you something else Kyuhyun but really you just need to talk to him about it. You can't keep distancing yourself from him unless you want end up single again." Two eyes popped up almost immediately at the word single being said. They were wide, anxious eyes. "No, no I don't want that but hyung if I could just show you..ugh, you would do the same. I wish he'd just stop doing it already..he's driving me crazy." Kyuhyun finally removed his hands from his face and slouched in his seat playing with the straw in his drink. "I know, I know but you can do it. I know you got it in you." Changmin stood up from his seat picking up the check, he looked it over and dropped some money on the table. "I've got to go into the studio now. Let me know how it goes later..and lunch is on me." He smiled and waved before heading off to work and wondering just how things were going to turn out if his friend was that conflicted about his boyfriend and his actions. He felt sort of useless but really the only thing that Kyuhyun could do had to be done all by himself.

Kyuhyun and Sungmin both made it back to their apartment that they shared rather sluggishly. Each was debating on when to go about their plans to figure out once and for all just what was going on. Sungmin went to change his clothes but was too lazy to complete that process and headed to the kitchen to prepare dinner. He put on his pink apron over nothing more than the boxer briefs he was wearing. Normally, he would wear boxers it was what he preferred but somehow Hyukjae had convinced him to get something different.

Sungmin had his head fully cleared by the time he was finished cooking. Being in the kitchen always seemed to do that for him. He was now determined to touch Kyuhyun. At least a little. A run of the fingers through his hair would be rather nice. Yes, he could settle for that, he thought as he hummed a song he liked and put the finishing touches on their dinner. The front door opened and closed, a voice carried through the apartment saying that someone was home. Sungmin peeked his head out from behind the entranceway to the kitchen a welcome home and then went back to what he was doing. It wasn't long before a quiet Kyuhyun walked into the kitchen only to stop dead in his tracks. A cough escaped him as he scratched the back of his head, "Er, smells good." he mumbled as he took a seat and kept his eyes glued to the table in front of him.

"Mm," Sungmin was fixing their plates and snuck a glance at his boyfriend who was staring at the table as if it was the most fascinating thing known to mankind. A slight frown appeared only to be replaced with a smile as he walked over and set Kyuhyun's plate down in front of him. "Did I interrupt your love affair with the table?" He asked with amusement hinting his tone, which gained Sungmin exactly what he wanted, a confused Kyuhyun looking up at him, which quickly became a flustered Kyuhyun as he realized what Sungmin had said and it didn't help that Sungmin looked really good with that silky hair of his falling into his eyes just so. A real smile spread across Sungmin's face one that reached his eyes as he ran his fingers through his boyfriends slightly messy hair. It felt really good too. He had missed doing that, so it was no surprise that he turned on his heel with a spring in his step and took a seat at the table. He didn't even bother discarding his apron because he honestly forgot he was wearing it.

Kyuhyun of course got an eye full of what his boyfriend was wearing. He picked up his chopstix and started shoveling food into his mouth. He only stopped when he couldn't fit anymore into his mouth. He was then forced to chew and so he did. A quick glance here and there was thrown in Sungmin's direction just to see if the guy was still looking the same way he was moments ago. Each time it was the same. Sungmin didn't really notice Kyuhyun's eating habits because he was satisfied for the moment and enjoying his own food. He only noticed when he heard the chair scrape against the floor as it was pushed back and a plate was being cleaned in the sink. Getting up himself he walked up behind Kyuhyun and wrapped his arms around him, cheek leaning against the others, "I guess you liked it if you ate that quickly." He pecked him on the cheek and moved away to hurry up and finish his food as well. What Sungmin didn't notice was that Kyuhyun had completely tensed up the moment Sungmin had touched him. His scrubbing of the plate had hesitated then increased at a rapid rate, one much too fast for a normal scrubbing of the dishes to be done. "Ah, yeah Min. It was good."

In face Kyuhyun didn't even really remember what he had ate. He only chewed and swallowed. Getting out of the kitchen seemed like the better plan. His original plan was failing and it was failing bad. Sungmin always made things so difficult and he just couldn't understand why. It was a nuisance and right now a great hindrance to their relationship. He wanted to be close to Sungmin, needed to be but this change that had occurred recently was bothering him. It was sort of scaring him and he could tell that Sungmin wouldn't know what he was talking about if he brought it up. Which was why he was in such a dilemma. He peeked back at Sungmin and wished he hadn't. Why in the world was the man wearing a pink apron and boxer-briefs that hugged him perfectly. He coughed and finished up washing his plate and putting it away. "Uh..um..Min, why are you wearing that?" Sungmin was just finishing his last bite and had to look down at himself, he wasn't wearing anything unusual so he didn't really understand Kyuhyun's question. "My apron? Oh I guess I just forgot to take it off after I finished dinner." He shrugged as he got up moving beside Kyuhyun who deftly moved out of his way so that Sungmin could clean his plate. Though Kyuhyun hadn't anticipated that he would be getting another backside view of the garments he had just mentioned. His eyes were glued to the ones that he was specifically talking about for a few seconds before he turned around completely. Walking towards the living room, he tried to erase the picture out of his mind while. "No..I mean the…other."

This made Sungmin's hands stop moving as he tried to think of what Kyuhyun was talking about but it didn't make much sense to him. Sure he didn't generally cook in just an apron and underwear but it's not like he hadn't before so what was his partner trying to get at. "I'm not sure what you mean." He finished up his plate and was starting on the pots and pans he used only to be told to leave them as someone else would finish them up in the morning. Sungmin was going to protest, he really preferred his kitchen to be clean but decided against it since he had other more important things on his mind and just let them all soak in water. That would be better than nothing he supposed. Finally he removed the apron from him and put it away, then made his way to where Kyuhyun should be.

Taking a seat on the couch, he brought his one leg up on the couch so he could sit facing Kyuhyun who was lying his head back with his eyes closed. Instinctively Sungmin's hand went straight into those messy brown locks that he loved so much. It was a habit to play with Kyuhyun's hair and he hadn't been able to do it in so long. Quite honestly he was surprised his boyfriend hadn't moved away just yet. That was sort of short lived as a hand suddenly grabbed his and removed it from the locks. This didn't make Sungmin happy at all. Originally he had thought he'd ask Kyuhyun what was going on in a more casual way but to hell with that. "Kyu?" the only response he received was a "Mm…?" this didn't make him any happier. Since he still wasn't being looked at he got up and swung his other leg over Kyuhyun's and sat straddling him. Then he took his hands on either side of the startled Kyuhyun's face and held them there so that way they were forced to look at each other. "Cho Kyuhyun, what is wrong with you?"

Kyuhyun immediately tried to struggle and make Sungmin get off or at least remove his hands from his face but it wasn't working. Why would it? Sungmin though tiny was really strong. The only thing he really wanted was to not look into those eyes. There was something in the depth of Sungmin's eyes that hadn't quite been there before and it affected Kyuhyun in too many different ways. Want, need, passion were some but on the other hand he was almost terrified of the meaning behind them. They stirred him up and scared him all at the same time. Unfortunately for him looking down wasn't going to help him either because for whatever reason Sungmin who just happened to have a perfect body that was milky white and oh so smooth and those lightly defined abs of his…enough of that. His mind really couldn't afford to go there as well. It was just too overwhelming for him. Instead of answering Sungmin he just sighed. "Min could you please get off me?" He asked this with a bit of pleading in his voice, hoping that it would work.

Kyuhyun couldn't have been more wrong. Sungmin's eyes had steeled up in determination, he wasn't about to go anywhere. "No. Not until you tell me what's going on? Every time I get near you, you run for the hills. Is it so wrong that I want to touch and show affection to my boyfriend?" The strong, hard determination in the beginning of his voice changed to one of worry and sadness. His left hand caressed Kyuhyun's face and lingered along his jaw line briefly. It wasn't an intentional movement but that didn't really matter, it made Kyuhyun groan in annoyance for not being listened to and in the subtle pleasure that it gave him to feel Sungmin's warm hand against his skin.

"Did I do something wrong?" Sungmin asked as he shifted his weight around but didn't get off of the victim he was holding down. A hand met his and pulled it away from it's place that was keeping their eyes locked. "Ughh, just stop looking at me like that." Kyuhyun cast his eyes down only to immediately regret not seeing Sungmin's usual pink boxers but now replaced by black briefs that didn't help him in the slightest. It was his turn to shift his weight though for him it was more because of a sudden uncomfortable feeling had occurred. Looking back up at Sungmin, the man was incapable of changing the one thing that would fix everything. "You're still doing it…" A cloud of confusion settled over Sungmin and wasn't about to leave any time soon. "How am I looking at you? I don't know what you're talking about. I'm not looking at you any differently than I normally do." He bit down on his lip trying to think of any of this so-called 'look' he could be giving Kyuhyun but couldn't think of anything. "You just are. That look you're giving me..it's so so intense..You look like you're going to swallow me whole or something. I-just..don't do it anymore." Kyuhyun tried to explain failing, so he added under his breath, "It makes me go crazy." A mischievous light struck Sungmin's eyes, as he said, "Well, I could swallow you whole you know." This made the tips of Kyuhyun's ears turn red but his gaze was still not being met. His hand was still in Kyuhyun's but he pulled it away and just sighed in exasperation. After a moment more of trying to figure anything out he gave up and started to get off of Kyuhyun. "I'm sorry Kyu." He didn't understand exactly what he was apologizing for since his boyfriend was terrible at explaining things but it didn't matter, something he was doing was bothering the one he cared for so he needed to apologize, it was the least he could do. "I've wanted to tell you something for awhile now but I guess it doesn't matter now." And it didn't. If Kyuhyun couldn't even look at him without feeling uncomfortable then there was no point in saying anything it would just make things more complicated.

Glancing up Kyuhyun managed to catch a glimpse of Sungmin's face and the expression he had there hurt him. He didn't mean to hurt his feelings but there wasn't much else he could do to explain it better. With the way Sungmin was starting to leave it didn't feel right to Kyuhyun. Almost as if, something really would change between them if he let him go and as much as whatever was going on in those obsidian eyes of his lovers he didn't want their relationship to change. He quickly pulled Sungmin down by his hips, a little harder than he had meant to do causing him to bit on his lip from the sudden impact of it all. "Min stay…you're going to need to help me in a moment though." He added the last part under his breath, something he was thinking and didn't mean to say out loud but it slipped. "Everything you have to say matters. I can uh get myself under control." Now, that was going to be a feat but if he had to choose between Sungmin and dealing with the amount of power those yes held, he'd always choose Sungmin. It would just be easier if the other man could quit it.

Sungmin couldn't help but feel delight in the fact that Kyuhyun had told him to stay. It gave him hope that whatever was going on could be resolved because he really cared for Kyuhyun and liked the life that they had together. He kept his eyes hooded though, not looking directly at the person in front of him even though he really wanted to. "You won't run for the hills if I touch you?" The only thing that was running through Kyuhyun's mind at that moment was that if Sungmin kept his head down like that then nothing would be a problem but he pushed that thought away and shook his head. He didn't really pay attention to the fact that Sungmin wouldn't know his answer without hearing it. Sungmin looked up under his lashes and caught the end of what he assumed to be a no so he tentatively put his right hand against Kyuhyun's chest and let it slide down his shirt just a tiny bit. He hadn't been this close to Kyuhyun in much too long it seemed. A hand caressed his cheek before resting under his chin to tilt it up slightly. "What did you want to tell me?" Being asked directly like that and knowing the word that he wanted to say and hadn't yet made Sungmin slightly embarrassed. He leaned in next to Kyuhyun's ear and whispered it instead. "Saranghae."

It hadn't occurred to Kyuhyun until that moment that neither of them had actually spoken that word aloud to each other. Not once in the two years they had been dating. Sure, Kyuhyun realized that he did indeed love Sungmin but somehow it had never come up and now that it did, it made a world of things clearer to him. When Sungmin pulled back to check his expression for anything other than the feeling being reciprocated Kyuhyun just stared at him in awe. He surely was an idiot. "I change my mind…" These words only increased Sungmin's heart rate that had already been increased just a moment ago. He waited impatiently for Kyuhyun to continue, not wanting him to say the words that he expected to hear now. Who replied to a confession of love with 'I changed my mind' Apparently Kyuhyun did.

"You can look at me like that whenever you want to." Sungmin was further confused by these words, but didn't have much time to think it over as his lips was being attacked with another pair of lips that he welcomed openly. His arms went around Kyuhyun's neck and he used them to help him scoot forward a bit. He wanted to be as close to his boyfriend as possible. Kyuhyun on the other hand pulled back in the middle of kissing and groaning at Sungmin's actions. "See this is why you've been having me run for the hills so much Min." He had started to kiss along Sungmin's jaw until he got next to his ear. "Mm?" Confusion was a bubble that Sungmin desperately wanted to pop but was preoccupied with all of the contact and affection he was finally receiving from his loved one. "I love you too." Kyuhyun whispered breathily in Sungmin's ear before continuing his journey down the mans neck. Sungmin moaned to the feeling of all of Kyuhyun's touches to his skin. It was much more intense than any other time because of the lack of such actions for so long of a time. "I really want to touch you Kyu. My turn." A chuckle escaped Kyuhyun's throat against Sungmin's collarbone which managed to send a shiver down Sungmin's spine. He pulled away though so his lover could do what he liked. In a few moments Sungmin would completely understand what he had meant about Kyuhyun needing to run for the hills instead of letting him near him, with those eyes of his.

Every time those eyes met his whether in passing, in between their moments of kissing, or when they were talking in the living room there was something in Sungmin's eyes that had been so intense to Kyuhyun that he didn't know what to make of it. Now he understood. It wasn't anything to be afraid of especially since he felt the same way. He had just never seen Sungmin's love so prominent in his gaze before. It held a power so intense that it sent chills down Kyuhyun's spine in a way of wanting, needing, passion and as for that previous fear he thought was going to swallow him whole that had completely disappeared he embraced it just as he would embrace Sungmin over and over and over again.
